What is a C trumpet

What is a C trumpet?

A C trumpet is a trumpet with a total tube length of approximately 116 m.

The C trumpet is the most commonly used trumpet in classical symphony orchestras. It has a somewhat brighter and more "businesslike" tone than the B-flat trumpet. This is because the instrument's mensuration is different from that of the b-flat trumpet. The bell is about the same, but the cylindrical part is about 6 inches shorter.
